Reading Putts

Putting is so critical to scoring that I cannot stress it enough.  The amazing thing is most coaching focuses on the stroke.  The putting stroke is really simple and often time personal.  Both Ben Crenshaw and Billy Mayfair were unbelievably good putters with totally opposite putting strokes.  In my career I played with many amazing putters: Brad Faxon and Willie Wood come to mind along with Don Pooley and Morris Hatalsky.  They had two things in common.  First they played more break than anybody else I have witnessed.  Second they had perfect pace.

If you have perfect touch you should be able to read.  This video is a good look and what to see as a great putter.
